About Dr. Tadrous

Dr Amanda Tadrous, DClinPsy, BSc, is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (UK).

Dr Tadrous specialises in working with clients with mood disorders, physical health problems (particularly Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and complex and longstanding difficulties including chronic emotional dysregulation and relationship/attachment difficulties.

Dr Tadrous divides her time between private practice and her role as an expert witness, offering expert assessment and intervention in family court proceedings. She is also a Visiting Fellow at the University of Huddersfield where she provides postgraduate teaching on areas including personality disorder(s) and offending behaviours.

Dr Tadrous has extensive training and experience. She obtained a First Class (Hons) Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from The University of Liverpool and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University College London (UCL).

Dr Tadrous has worked across a variety of NHS inpatient and community settings. These have included physical health (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, HIV and sexual health), forensic mental health and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) services. Her NHS activities included service leadership, consultation, supervision, teaching, complex psychological assessment and treatment.

Dr Tadrous is a highly skilled practitioner who is passionate about her teaching activities and working with clients towards reaching their goals. In addition to her professional activities, Dr Tadrous is committed to animal rights and welfare and supports a number of charities including the RSPCA.

Therapeutic Approach

Dr Tadrous has a background in a range of therapies. However, she currently specialises in using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Schema Therapy.

CBT and ACT are evidenced based treatments that aim to help individuals develop new ways of responding to external and internal stressors (including distressing thoughts) in order to live a meaningful life.

Schema Therapy is an integrative therapy that is effective in treating longstanding and complex problems including chronic mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorder(s) and relationship difficulties.
